Good copy and great customer service! There was some confusion with my order and it was resolved promptly!
 STS311 SONY Owner's Manual by John Thoburn;
Having bought a pre-owned Sony FM stereo tuner through eBay, it came without any manuals. It soon became clear that to get the best from this excellent tuner I needed a decent manual because much of the operation was not intuitive to a newboy to hi fi like me. I managed to download the official Sony multi-lingual manual from Owner-Manuals.com with no problem at all - a really quick and easy service. I'm very glad I did because I found out all the operations of the tuner and was then able to not only set it up quickly but also to get much more from it that poke-and-hope trialling would ever achieve. In my book $4.99 very well spent.

Additional information

Recording DVD-Audio using the REC Mode
 Default setting: Off When Rec Mode is On, a stereo downmix of multi-channel DVD-A discs is output from the speakers and from the analog audio jacks. When set to Off, multi-channel DVD-A discs are played through all the speakers, but nothing is output from the analog audio jack. Note that with some discs, only the front left/ right channels are output. Also, whether On or Off, DVD-A audio is not output from the digital audio jack. Before you start, make sure that there is a DVD-A disc loaded. 1 Press CD DVD to switch the system to the CD/DVD function. 2 Press SYS MENU.

 Leaving the system unplugged from a power outlet for more than about a month will also clear all the settings.

Selecting languages using the language code list
Some of the language options in the Initial Settings menu allow you to set your prefered language from any of the 136 languages listed in the language code list on page 84. 1 Select Other Language.

2 Use the / (cursor left/right) buttons to highlight either the language name or code number. 3 Use the / (cursor up/down) buttons to change the language or code number. You can also use the number buttons if youre entering a language code. See the Language code list on page 84 for a complete list of languages and codes.

3 Use the / (cursor left/right) buttons to select REC Mode. 4 Use the / (cursor up/down) buttons to select On or Off. 5 Press ENTER.

Resetting the unit
Use this procedure to reset all the players settings to the factory default. If theres a disc loaded, take it out before you start. 1 Press TUNER.

2 Press and hold down the 7 (stop) button on the front panel until you see the message Memory Clear? (about 8 seconds) then release. 3 Within 3 seconds, press and hold down the 7 (stop) button again for 3 seconds to reset the system. All the players settings are now reset, and you should see the Welcome to Pioneer DVD! screen.
