Having purchased a 1994 Kenwood music system from a Charity shop in 2013 (it was a high end product in its day), I found myself not quite knowing where to plug in what, and how to do this, that and the next thing. I needed a Manual, and after failure with another online 'Manual provider' I found Owner Manuals dot com. Well, I wasn't sure, but it was only $5, and if things didn't work out, I wouldn't have lost much... But things DID work out. After paying my childrens inheritance money, $4.99, I was sent a Manual for my Kenwood System very quickly. Alas, it was in German, and being Scottish, I could not read it or get my system in order from it...a rapid email to them brought the English Manual in short order, and my retro-system was and IS up and running in it's regulation settings. I am very grateful to http://www.owner-manuals.com for their quick service and for even having such an obsolete Manual in the first place! If you need a Manual for ANYTHING, try here first. 5 Getting Started
Numbers If the disc is stopped, playback starts from the selected track or title number. If the disc is playing, playback jumps to the start of the selected track or chapter number. >10 DISC 1–5 Selects tracks/titles/chapters 1 and over. 1 (For example, for 24, press >10 , 2, 4.) Starts playing the selected disc. (On the front panel use: 1–5)

Navigating DVD disc menus
Some DVD discs contain menus. Sometimes these are displayed automatically when you start playback; others only appear when you press menu or top menu.
Button TOP MENU (SHIFT MENU) MENU What it does Displays the ‘top menu’ of a DVD disc— this varies with the disc. Displays a DVD disc menu—this varies with the disc and may be the same as the ‘top menu’. Returns to the previously displayed menu screen. Moves the cursor around the screen Selects the current menu option Selects a numbered menu option (some discs only)

DVD and Video CD only: E (SHIFT ¡) During playback, press and hold to start slow-motion forward scanning. Change the speed using the e and E buttons. During playback, press once to pause; advance a single frame with each subsequent press. DVD only: e (SHIFT 1) During playback, press and hold to start slow-motion reverse scanning. During playback, press once to pause; reverse a single frame with each subsequent press. Numbers RETURN

Navigating Video CD PBC menus
Some Video CDs have menus from which you can choose what you want to watch. These are called PBC (Playback control) menus, and are displayed automatically when you start playback. You can switch PBC off by starting playback using a number button to select a track, rather than the 6 button.
Button RETURN Numbers 4 What it does Displays the PBC menu. Selects a numbered menu option. Displays the previous menu page (if there is one). Displays the next menu page (if there is one). Press to select an item from a PBC menu.

While using the DVD playback controls, you may see the or mark displayed on-screen. means that the operation is not allowed by the system. means that the operation is not allowed by the disc.
