The Initial Setup Menu
Dual Mono Recording
� Default: L

Tuner Audio Level
� Default: Standard
When recording a dual mono source from an external input in Video mode or VR mode set to MN32*, you can choose to record either the L (left), or the R (right) audio channel. * This does not apply if recording from the DV input.
If the audio from the built-in TV tuner seems loud compared to disc playback, set this to Minimum, otherwise leave on the Standard setting.
Audio Output settings
If you�re recording in VR mode (except when set to MN32*), both channels will be recorded and you can switch them as you like on playback.
Digital Out
� Default setting: On
DV Input
� Default: Stereo1
You need to set this if you have a camcorder using 32kHz/1 2-bit sound connected to the front panel DV IN/OUT jack.
If at any time you need to switch off the digital audio output, set this to Off, otherwise leave it On. Note that you can�t switch on/off the optical and coaxial outputs individually.
Dolby Digital Out
� Default: Dolby Digital Some digital camcorders have two stereo tracks for audio. One is recorded at the time of shooting; the other is for overdubbing after shooting. On the Stereo1 setting, the sound that was recorded while shooting is used. On the Stereo2 setting, the overdubbed sound is used.
